Traveling to Yuma, TN
All the apps and
plans your route can change anyway. Construction on I40. Technology is no match
for old fashioned people to people. Stopped for gas at a Conoco and asked for
alternate route around construction. Routed us to Hwy 70 for 40 miles to
Brinkley then back to I40.
Passed through
Hazen, AR - population 1600. 2 Baptist Churches - First Baptist and Calvary.
Dennis and I said at the same time "church split." Across the street from one church was the
local liquor store….
Seeing lots of farms
growing grains on this road - not so bad a detour.
Met couple this
morning at our campground from Longview who are traveling to New York to go on cruise to Quebec.
They have stayed in campground in New Jersey we will stay in.
R and R ( rest and repair)
Last night we had an
odor from the bedroom AC that smelled like
electrical wires overheating. Did not need it to sleep so Dennis called
warranty people this morning and will get repair service here at camp to
look at it.
Repair service was
here this morning. Ground wire in AC burned up. Was replaced but he said was
running too much current. Did not know if that was the cause. He called his boss
and engineers said was OK. If we smell getting hot again we will not use it and
replace when we get home. So far so good.
Traveling to Misty River RV, Maryville, TN
We stopped for
picnic lunch outside of Knoxville. As we got out of truck it started pouring, but
we made it to covered table and enjoyed watching the rain. Temp lower today.
Picnic in the rain. |
Also, the time zone
changed on us along the way and it is now an hour later than Texas.
Misty River RV Camp Office |
We took a wrong turn and ended up on a very crooked road
along the river instead of the hwy. The road we were on was NOT a good road for an RV. Finally called campground and got
directions. The directions we had in our carefully prepared travel plans were right; we just did not see the road
sign at the right time.
Nice evening -rain! Heat has broken.
